INTRODUCTION

The exhibition of the Haapsalu castle museum tells the story of the castle and town of Haapsalu from the foundation of the cathedral church in the 2nd half of the 13th century until the destruction of the castle in an accidental fire in the end of the 17th century. The exhibition is situated on the ground floor and cellars of the castle, including also the cathedral church of Haapsalu. A typical tour of the castle museum takes the visitor through 24 different rooms and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. After the tour of exhibition the visitors can explore the inner yard of the castle, the terraces and take the stairs to the viewing platform situated 31 meters above the sea level.
